Twin Quilts from Night Owl Quilting

Naomi made these lovely quilts for her twin grandbabies.  I love how they are totally unique yet totally coordinated.

The first has the star applique shapes and the blue coordinating fabric.

We used the Soho pantograph on both quilts as it played with with the polka dot fabric.

The second had the heart appliques and the green coordinate.  The other three fabrics reminded the same. So clever!

Two Scrappy Quilts From Wendy from Night Owl Quilting

Wendy brought two scrappy quilts that feature some great bold and bright fabrics from her stash.  The first is Wendy's take on the Mochi quilt pattern from Beyond the Reef.

We settled on the Good Vibrations pantograph which adds some movement but keeps things clean and modern with the quilting.

A cozy Fireside backing finished this off perfectly.

This second quilt is made entirely out of beautiful batik fabric.  The pattern is called Sonja's Windows.  I believe it was originally feature in a McCall's quilting magazine in 2009, but is now available on Etsy as a standalone ...

Star Cluster from Night Owl Quilting

Wendy brought this bold quilt that comes from designer Tula Pink.  The pattern is called Star Cluster and features fabrics from two of Tula's collections - Everglow and True Colors Neon.

Every block features a fussy cut center featuring all the colorful animals.  The fabric is neon in person.  These pictures do not really capture that.

Wendy chose the Soho pantograph and the circles certainly complement the large polka dot setting triangles.   Wendy added a cozy Cuddletex backing and had the binding stripe added by my colleague Marion.  This is just such a bright and happy quilt.  How can you ...

Rail Fence Pinwheel from Night Owl Quilting

When my sister-in-law Christie was clearing out her mom's sewing room, she passed one some quilting cottons to me.  These are not normally colours that I am drawn to, but there were well coordinated so I wanted to see what I could come up with.

After a little head scratching and math, I decided that a rail fence block would make the fabric go the furthest.  I decided on the pinwheel layout.  I used the Soho pantograph as I like how it mimicked the circles in two of the fabric prints.

I had just enough of the striped fabric ...

Blue Beauty from Night Owl Quilting

Sandra made this lovely lap quilt in a really pretty blue color palette.

The Soho pantograph added some nice movement to the top and looks just fabulous on the cuddle backing fabric.

Sandra opted to utilize the binding service that my associate Marion offers and her fabric choice adds a nice bit of interest.

Kitty Cat Charm Quilt from Night Owl Quilting

Val made another wonderful scrappy quilt.  This pattern is called the Kitty Charm quilt by Robert Callaham and is available on the Quilting Daily website.  It was originally published in the October 2000 issue of McCall's quilting.

I love the heart charm on the yellow cat!

Val really used a great mix of fabric.  Some seem very modern and some have probably been aging like fine wine in her stash but they all work well together!

Val chose the Soho pantograph for this one.  It looks lovely on the cozy flannel backing too.

Lots of extra sewing to add ...

Orbiter from Night Owl Quilting

Corne made this cheefrul queen sized quilt.  The pattern is called Orbiter by Libs Elliott. Corne also used a collection of fabric designed by Libs Elliott called Phosphor.

Corne selected the Soho pantograph which added some softness to the quilt top.

Corne added a really great wide backing from Paintbrush Studio Fabric's Garden Dreams Collection called Garden Toss.  It was a great contrast to the front and a really nice quality of wide backing.

Mirror Mirror and more from Julie from Night Owl Quilting

Julie made this lovely Mirror Mirror quilt.  You can find the free tutorial for this pattern from Jordan Fabrics here.

Julie selected the Soho pantograph and we used So Fine #456 Goose Down which is a great thread that blends well between the green and the gold.

Julie also made this fun quilt with a dog panel in the centre and some more dog themed fabrics to frame it.

The Bora Bora pantograph was the choice for this one. I find Bora Bora looks really good on most panels.

4 for Patrice from Night Owl Quilting

I was lucky enough to quilt 4 projects for Patrice over the last little while.  First up is the cheerful quilt with a tropical vibe.  Patrice chose a really good pattern to show off the focus fabric that she loves.

Patrice selected the Gingersnap pantograph for this one.

The bright backing was a great addition to the project.

Next up is a quilted shawl that Patrice was making as a gift for a friend.  She added a gorgeous purple flannel for the backing to make it extra cozy.  The small scale Soho pantograph added some nice movement to this project ...

Elaine's Improv from Night Owl Quilting

Elaine made this great Improv quilt using blocks and fabric leftover from a previous project.  You can see it here.

I don't know if I have the right quilting personality to attempt an improv quilt.  Elaine obviously does!  She said she had her young granddaughter sewing some of the blocks as well.

Elaine chose the Soho pantograph and I think the circular motif compliments so many of the fabric prints.

The coordinating pieced back is a nice touch as well.

Christmas Round Robin from Night Owl Quilting

Joanne participated in a Round Robin through the Canadian Quilters Association, and this beauty is now hers.  Joanne made the centre block with the black and white border and white corner stones and then it got mailed off to a series of strangers who added additional borders before it was returned to her.

Joanne requested a Christmas theme and loves scrappy quilts and wow did the participants in her group deliver.  There are so many wonderful fabrics, beautiful piecing and applique.  Joanne was just thrilled.

Joanne chose the Soho pantograph and my favorite gold thread - Magnifico 2063 Clover Honey.  It ...

Two for Carol from Night Owl Quilting

Carol brought two lovely quilts for some quilting.  First up is this lovely evergreen quilt.

Carol chose the Soho pantograph and provided green Fireside backing which shows off the quilting so well.

The second quilt is this classic Attic Window.   The bird print that Carol chose for the windows is just lovely and this setting really showcases it.

The Breath of the Gods pantograph was Carol's choice and I think it adds a nice light touch to the quilt.

Val's Simply Dashing 2.0 from Night Owl Quilting

This is Val's second unique interpretation of our Highway 10 Designs Simply Dashing pattern.  The pattern is written as a two fabric quilt that utilizes strip piecing for a fast and easy finish.

Val made it her own by starting with some ombre fat quarters and doing a whole lot of organizing and planning along the way.

I think the navy background really makes all of the other colors pop.  Val chose the Soho pantograph and a shiny blue thread.

Val chose her backing fabric from the small collection of Northcott wide backs that I have in stock.  This ...

Scrappy Nine Patch from Night Owl Quilting

Marion brought this wonderfully scrappy quilt.  She inherited a box of 2" squares from her aunt and wanted to put them to use, even though most of the fabrics weren't necessarily her taste.

Marion selected the the Soho pantograph, and I think the scale suits the quilt really well.  No square was left without getting some quilting through it.

Marion added a classic white on white backing fabric to add a bit of calm.  This quilt grew on Marion while she was making it and instead of it being given away, it is going to find a home in ...

Onesies Funsies from Night Owl Quilting

I had the pleasure of quilting this fun little quilt for pattern tester Reneta.  The pattern is called "Onesies Funsies" and it is a new release from Art East Quilting Co.

Reneta and my daughter Kendra selected the Soho pantograph, and I think it is a sweet finish for all the cute animals.  I think I'm partial to the bunny - how about you?
